Psalm 146

Jesus read in a synagogue a passage from Isaiah (Is 61:1...) where a similar thing was said as it is in this Psalm. And he told practically the same thing to John the Baptist. Those were works, miracles, which were foretold centuries before Jesus came as a man and those works, miracles were done by the power of God, the Father through Jesus. And a lot of Jewish people didn't want to acknowledge, that those things are God's works... They have said, that is was the Devil, who worked through Jesus... So God was the Devil for them and the Devil was God and majority of people, who live today have the same wrong idea.
They praise man, mortal men in whom there is no help. Men, together with the Devil, are doing today similar miracles, wonders and signs - and people they don't see the difference between works of Jesus and work of today's spiritualists and scientists. But in the Bible all those things were foretold: those works are not from God and of God...

(2. Thess 2:9-11)
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie

The devils have the power to torture people and when they stop doing it - people are "healed"... and people believe them... and everything what mystics and spiritualists are telling them... and those things go completely against the word of God - no wonder.
And regarding our technology and progress in medicine (well, your technology and your medicine): in many cases (if not in all) it is cheating us - people are taking pills, cure, so to speak, but they are never ever cured. That is not a cure.
And when someone's organs don't work - do they repair them? Usually not. They took organs from another person and transplant them into the person.

Those wonders are not even close to the works of God, but people believe them.
I did it too but praised be the LORD: now I see :)
