verse 1: "Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?"
Who is addressed here? Congregation, that is Church, you (if you are a believer in the Word of God.)
verse 2: "Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth."
That's us - keep that in mind. It's painful... We should be able to identify ourselves with such people...
verse 3: "The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies."
But even for wicked, there is a chance - otherwise no one would be saved.
The Lord said:
"Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?"
And again, the Lord is addressing his people:
"Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?"
verse 4,5: "Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear; Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely."
verse 6: "Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD."
Break their teeth, so that they will not be able to hurt anyone anymore.
Young lions? Have they already attained the peak, the max of their power or not? I guess, that they haven't yet...
So I understand this as prayer to the Lord - make them harmless and don't wait that they reach their max power.
The Word of God had broken my teeth too :)
I cannot speak against the Lord anymore... but before I could: my mouth were as mouth of the serpent - speaking lies, saying bad words against the most high and against his word. My mouth were as the mouth of the serpent, dragon, the Devil, saying: "Yea, hath God really said... those words, which are written in the Bible? Is that really his message?"
verse 7: "Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces."
verse 8: "As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away:... "
And what is left behind the wicked? Nothing... he or she is like a snail, which melteth and vanish forever, leaving almost nothing behind it.
verse 8-9: "like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun. Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
They may not see the sun? The sun will be darkened, we read in the book of Revelation...
Before the pots can feel the thorns? When do pots feel the thorns? When they are broken and thrown away and when that happens? At the end of their "life" but with the wicked people let it not be so - let them perish before their time and this will happen at the day of the Lord.
verse 10: "The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked."
The vengeance belongeth to the Lord - he is righteous and he will destroy and walk over the dead bodies of the wicked people. When singing such verses - we do not want to be or remain wicked any longer. Imagine that you would raise your children in such a way - that they would fear to do evil things... but now - children of today are not afraid of anyone and many of them or their descendants will be destroyed by the Word of God himself.
In Revelation 14:19-20 we read:
"And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs."
and in Revelation 19:11-21 we find out, who is righteous, who will destroy the wicked...
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."
verse 10: "So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth."
Today people say something quite different - if you lie and steal and hurt people and kill and mock people and blaspheme the Lord - you receive a great reward - and if you are Mr. nice guy - you are destroyed... it seems that you receive no reward for being right with people and with the Lord... But that will change.
No one will judge us - people think and are hopping... Well, they are wrong - thank God :)
And this person, who will destroy the wicked is A God, notice that he is not the God.
The Word of God, Jesus Christ, was with God and was God... (compare with John 1).
Trinity makes sense throughout the whole Bible :)
I have almost forgotten: Luk 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
